Ident Analysis




The use of various colors used in this Ident and the imagination of several different things moving and occurring at the same time makes it more interesting and exciting to view. Objects such as the pillows moving up the wall and blue sheets flowing down and out of the drawers makes it look as if a waterfall is happening and taking place creating a relaxed mood for the audience, the fact that the waterfall color is purple and representing the E4 channel's logo. At first we see a very dull and boring old hotel room with luggage on the floor and everything else tidied away quite a normal sight for a hotel room, but as the curtains come to a close the atmosphere changes and the room is instantly spilled by the purple E4 color giving a drive/excitement effect into the audience indicating by watching their shows they will not be let down and attention is kept throughout. The strengths for this ident could be the creative and imaginative representation of the brand this leads to it being very eye catching and stimulating. I wouldn't say there is much of a weakness to it as its very interesting to watch but the only downside could be there is too much going on and gives away the brand too easily.



In comparison to the E4 ident this clearly lacks the bright colors we were expecting to see as an audience but this could probably be targeted at an audience of people in their 30's. The use of rain at the start could probably indicate that the channel will be showing a dull and not so very exciting programmes, with the bikers in only a few color raincoats can instantly be seen as not very creative and exciting enough compared to E4's use of vibrant and exciting colors. One of the main strengths for this ident could be it gives a direct representation of what the channel is about.
