A zoetrope is a device that produces the illusion of motion from a rapid succession of static pictures. The modern zoetrope was invented in 1833 by British mathematician William George Horner. Phi Phenomenon the optical illusion of perceiving continuous motion between separate objects viewed rapidly in succession. The phenomenon was defined by Max Wertheimer in the Gestalt psychology in 1912 and along with persistence of vision formed a part of the base of the theory of cinema, applied by Hugo Munsterberg in 1916.

Persistence of vision is the phenomenon of the eye by which an afterimage is thought to persist for approximately one twenty-fifth of a second on the retina.

Be sure that all wires are kept in a correct way and all safely put away when not being used

Be sure fire exits are clear at all times

Film Idea

Working Title: The Heist, Deal Gone Wrong, College Chaos
Genre: Action, Thriller
Target Audience: 15+
Synopsis: A shootout which takes place in college because a deal goes wrong and hostages have been held captive in the building causing a major standoff with the police.

For there to be peace the hostage takers demand their half of the deal and on top of that money which makes the situation even more tense due to the fact that they have requested a large sum of money.

The police then try gather all the money together but then devise a plan in how they can get to the hostages without having to pay the money. Now the original deal was for two drug dealers acting as students to hand over the drugs in college unrecognized and without anybody knowing but foolishly a member of the opposition had drop some of the substance on the floor and this caught the eye of security. This took a wrong turn and ended him up being held hostage and many others.

The dealer pulls out a semi automatic weapon and orders everyone to get on the ground and stay down. With every student and teacher on the floor sight and sound of terrified innocent people frustrates the dealer and gets him mad firing shots in the air to shut everyone up and demands silence. Minute's past by but this felt like hours to the many who were held hostage this started to irritate the gang as they just wanted their half of the deal. 

As police arrive and surround the building with firearm teams situated everywhere, and snipers at high points. They make a deal with the dealers asking to let go all of the hostages and will be given what they want if they go ahead with it so after minutes of thinking they let the hostages go. With all hostages rescued and just the dealers inside this has made the plan for the police much more easier, a special unit team is made to go in stealthily without the suspects knowing with them concentrating on what they had been delivered they are completely unaware of what is happening behind them. As each one of them take toilet breaks the special unit take them out silently one by one and as all of them disappear the leader gets suspicious and goes check himself who then discovers his whole team have deceased leaving him alone he is outnumbered and realizes there is no chance so he gives in and walks out of the building slowly with hands behind his back bringing the long standoff to an end.

gif animation




For this task I received images from google by typing up contact sheets and cropping out several images to put together a gif animation as shown above. Take the second one for example from an original image on google of a Margret Thatcher contact sheet and cropped out 5 images out of it which I then uploaded onto gifninja. I rearranged it into an order which I preferred I then saved it and downloaded it as a gif file.

Eadweard Muybridge was an english photographer important for his pioneering work in photographic studies of motion and in motion picture projection.
